BDJ Women’s Summit

In celebration of BDJ’s 10th year, we are continuing our pursuit to empower more Filipinas by giving you the push to live life to the fullest.

On April 16, join us and the distinguished advocates and change makers in engaging discussions toward current issues faced by women today at the BDJ Women’s Summit at the SM Aura, Samsung Hall!

Your actions matter, no matter how big or small it because YOU ARE THE CHANGE.

The action that we can do translates to something greater – and it’s  CHANGE. Something happens when we pull ourselves together, when we see and experience what we can contribute, then we start to make choices we didn’t know we had.

The BDJ Women’s Summit will be a highly interactive and experiential day. But more than the impressive line-up of guests, this will be ALL ABOUT YOU – this will give you a glimpse on what YOU, as an individual and WE as a community, can do for our society, also experience powerful practices, hear personal stories and learn about inspiring initiatives that can help pull ourselves together as never before – individually and collectively.

Be part to take action in being the change you want to see with these inspirational and game-changing topics.

(10:15 – 10:40) > Keynote Speech on Women Helping Women

w/ ( MS. AMINA RASUL BERNARDO (Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy & International Women’s Advocate) and

(10:40 – 11:50) > Igniting Curiosity and Intellectual Discourse

w/ MS. ANA SANTOS (International Award-Winning Journalist) and MS. RISA HONTIVEROS (2016 Senatorial Candidate & Women’s Advocate)

— Bullying has become ubiquitous—in school, at work, online and in numerous other forms. More recently we have observed “smart-shaming” come to the fore. Given our social nature, how do we spark curiosity and boost intellectual freedom for Filipinas?

(1:30 – 2:45) > Working towards Financial Freedom

w/ MS. MYRNA PADILLA (Founder, Mynd Consulting, Inc.) and MS. SALVE DUPLITO (Financial Adviser, ANC’s On The Money)

— Based on the 2015 Deloitte survey on millennials, six out of ten millennials would like to pursue entrepreneurship. Four of these six aspiring entrepreneurs are women, and the most common concern is—where do we find enough resources to start?

(3:00 – 4:15) > Finding the Courage to Lead

w/ REP. LENI ROBREDO (2016 Vice Presidential Candidate) and  MS. MYRZA SISON (Editorial Director, Summit Media)

— The majority of women in this generation strive to be social chameleons, constantly vying for the approval of others all the while struggling with apathy and complacency. There is fear of failure and criticism. How then do we overcome  this, recognize our own strength, and find the courage to do something great?

(4:45 – 6:00) > Nurturing Passions to Inspire Good

w/ MS. SUSAN AFAN (Managing Director, ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.) and  MS. JEN SANTOS (General Manager, G-Stuff, Eco Social Enterprise)

— In 2014, 2.5 million Filipinos benefited from social enterprises in the country, the majority of which are also women. Yet the increasing number of poor Filipinos is still alarming. As empowered Filipinas, how can we help?

But she loves Belle De Jour a lot that’s why she’s mostly curious what I do everytime I attend your activities. :)
