We give you a peek at the fab life of lifestyle influencer Issa Perez of Issa Please!
How do you plan your week ahead?
I am such a control freak (haha!) so organizing my days/ weeks and months is something that I am constantly doing either alone or with my assistant. We usually meet at the start of the week to sync calendars, for my meetings, events, photo shoots or whatever it is I’m doing for the week and I rely heavily on my BDJ organizer and on my assistant to remind me of what I have to do.
How do you prioritize your to-do list with daily/weekly commitments/tasks?
If there’s something that must absolutely be done, I will make sure to get it out of the way first before doing anything else. I have a pretty flexible schedule most days so it’s fairly easy for me to move around any other tasks I have.
What’s the best way to start the week?
I like to start my week by setting my goals and planning how I can accomplish them. But honestly, my days are soo hectic, I don’t even know when the actual start of the week is anymore!
Tell us about your morning routine. What gets you pumped up in the morning?
My mornings often start quite late depending on the day and the tasks. I find my mind most active at night so I like to sleep in whenever I can but as soon as I wake up, I roll around in bed, appreciate the sunlight and then I proceed to check emails and social media on my phone before actually having to get up.
How do you take your breaks on a typical weekday?
I like to watch Youtube videos, play whatever game I have on the Play Station, I personal blog or spend time with my boyfriend. Sometimes we like to go out and sing karaoke, too.
What’s your go to night cap?
Friends re-runs in the background until I fall asleep or Youtube videos or sometimes I 9gag.
What’s the best way to spend Friday night?
As far away as possible from any crowds or any crowded areas. HAHAHA! If I’m not at an event, I prefer to have friends over at our place for drinks or we’ll go to a friends’ house and drink there.
How do you relax on weekends?
Weekends are like unicorns, mermaids and my chances of ending up with Gerald Anderson- non- existent.
The Bellas would love to know how you plan your awesome fashion/beauty looks. Tell us your fashion/beauty secrets. Do share.
Sometimes when I have a little bit more time, I’ll pre-plan outfits but I almost never stick to them on the day I choose to wear theme so I don’t know why I even try. Lol. But I do stick to a skin care routine (it’s on my Youtube channel- check it out!) and whenever I can, I make a trip to the salon to get pampered.
Issa’s 5 Planning Tips & Tricks
Tip 1: Set Your Goals and Priorities Ahead.
I find that identifying your goals helps motivate me throughout the week rather than just breezing through it blindly. It helps me keep a hold of what I’m going to do and I feel a lot more accomplished when I am able to tick things off my chart.
Tip 2: Prepare What You Need To Accomplish Your Goals.
If one of my goals is to “approach establishments/ organizations/ businesses” whether it’s for blogging or business, I make sure to not just stop there. I make it a point on Mondays (which I consider as my “rest” day) to prepare all the proposals, cover letters and what not that I need to get my tasks on the right track in order to save me time.
Tip 3: Always Take Care of Your Health.
Being a BDJ girl typically means that we’re always filled to the brim with activities and whatnot- sometimes when things get too hectic, my sleeping schedule tends to get affected and I find myself up until the sun comes up which is TERRIBLE. I try to get in some form of exercise or make sure to take my supplements too keep everything balanced.
Tip 4: Don’t be afraid to take a break.
Sometimes we all need a break. Actually, not sometimes, we ALWAYS need to reward ourselves with even a few short minutes to reenergize ourselves and collect our thoughts. So take breaks whenever you feel like it- it always pays off!
Tip 5: Keep Yourself in Check
Sometimes like just happens and we end up not being able to accomplish our set goals but that’s ok. Don’t beat yourself up about it- it happens sometimes.
