How do you plan your week ahead?

I make sure to block off one day a week as my “home day” to make sure I still have time to collect, gather myself, rest, and plan the rest of my days. Sometimes I use this day to edit and upload my vlog/blog posts too. Sundays are always reserved for church and family, and I only take a maximum of three events a day to make sure I don’t stretch my energy too much.

How do you prioritize your to-do list with daily/weekly commitments or tasks?

Time-sensitive tasks will always be top priority. I work my way down the list until I get to accomplish everything. I have tasks for the day, and I try to finish them as much as possible. But when there’s just too much to do, I give myself timed deadlines within the day. For example, I have to finish responding to all my emails before lunch, or I have to finish writing an article before 4 pm.

What’s the best way to start the week?

Away from the city, and chilling in a peaceful island getaway! But in cases when that’s not possible, just being able to do a good workout and have a hearty breakfast is good enough for me. This week was pretty pleasant though, with gorgeous flower arrangements sent by a dear friend and sponsor to brighten my week!

Tell us about your morning routine. What gets you pumped up in the morning?

The thought of brunch and all the work I have to do. Hahaha! Of course, starting the day with a prayer is a must. Just like the song lyrics: “Before I put on my makeup… I say a little prayer for you!” Haha! Tidying up is always a part of my morning routine, so I make sure my room is fixed. That and having a shower and my morning beauty regimen.

How do you take breaks on a typical weekday?

The classic merienda break either in a coffee shop (plugging our own @StapleAndPerkCafe, haha!) or even at home is an easy pick-me-upper! Sometimes, I like calling friends or meeting up with them to catch up. Also just watching an episode or two (depends on how long my break is) from my fave series will do the trick.

What’s your go-to nightcap?

I don’t really drink (if you’re pertaining to alcohol), but in terms of go-to comfort drinks, I love Twinnings’ Lady Grey Tea!

What’s the best way to spend Friday night?

It depends on my mood! Sometimes, I’d rather stay home and unwind (for some good old “me time”). Other nights I’d share the night with friends/family over dinner, movie, shopping, bowling… or whatever we feel like doing at the moment!

How do you relax on the weekends?

Either going on a chill date night out catching a movie, grabbing dinner, and relaxing in the spa, or just staying at home and binge watching our family’s fave TV series while snacking on our fave treats!

The Bellas would love to know how you plan your awesome looks. Can you share your fashion/beauty secrets?

Know what cuts and styles flatter your body shape. Enhance your finest features, and have fun by experimenting with different styles.

Fashion and beauty are supposed to be fun! But don’t forget appropriation should always be top priority. Having pegs in mind can help you get your style inspo game going! Try refreshing old pieces and transforming them. For example, I wanted to try out the bandana trend, and I found an old but still good hanky in our closet. I’ve already used it as a scarf, belt, and headband! Accessories can really make, break, or change the entire look you’re going for too.

Janeena’s Five Planning Tips and Tricks

1: Write it down in a neat list! De-clutter your mind and surroundings while you’re at it too!

2: Give yourself a deadline and stick to it!

3: Aim for progress over perfection.

4: Motivate yourself! Power quotes usually help me! A fave is “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.”

5: Incentives work! Reward yourself after finishing your tasks! Yes, you deserve that pint of ice cream!
