We give you a peek at the fab life of beauty blogger Martha Sta. Barbara of The Beauty Junkee!
How do you plan your week ahead?
I usually try to know what will happen to me a week ahead. So I always plan one week in advance.
How do you prioritize your to-do list with daily/weekly commitments/tasks?
I go by this principle called EAT THE FROG, meaning I take on heavy, hard tasks first to free up my week quickly, allowing me to do other things and even discover new things. I also blogged about my time and task management system here!
What’s the best way to start the week?
With a work out! Working out makes you feel good about yourself and it just spills over to the other aspects of your life!
Tell us about your morning routine. What gets you pumped up in the morning?
I start with a prayer and then I read/watch something that makes me happy.
How do you take your breaks on a typical weekday?
Mostly sleeping a lot, trying out beauty products that have been sent to me and taking photos of flatlays and products for content for my social media accounts.
What’s your go to night cap?
I sometimes watch movies, YouTube, or flip through my social media accounts, reading articles that are totally unrelated to the industry I am in to trigger new discoveries, inspirations, and epiphanies.
What’s the best way to spend Friday night?
Either a work out or a spa treatment/good dinner.
How do you relax on weekends?
I pace myself and try not to think about work.
The Bellas would love to know how you plan your awesome beauty looks. Tell us your beauty secrets. Do share.
Hydrating skin care. Good makeup. Exercise. Water. Positivity.

Martha’s Five Planning Tips & Tricks
- READY, GET, SET!
Every Monday, I spend more time planning my week ahead by listing down the most important tasks for the week followed by the moderate ones, then lastly, by the light ones. I want to know what my tasks are first before I deal with them; I find it to be more productive this way. I also start the week with a workout. It gets me in the mood.
- BEGIN WITH THE GRIND, BUT REMEMBER TO PACE YOURSELF
Most of my meetings happen during Tuesdays. I like it that way too so I have enough time to accomplish what’s required of me the entire week. I also don’t overload myself with meetings and whatnots because I don’t want to be overwhelmed and I want to focus on each task properly. When I have time, I squeeze in a night work out.
- MAKE TIME FOR A MID-WEEK REST AND YOUR LOVED ONES!
I give myself a break at the middle of each week in order to go hard for the rest of the week. Also, this is the day of the week when I spend time with my fiancé; we make it a point to find time for each other despite how busy we are!
- MAKE TIME FOR NEW CONNECTIONS
Most events happen on a Thursday so I go to the ones that I am interested in or something that’s very near to where I work to keep my blog connections, meet new people, and to gather new content for the blog. Also, work out!
- WRAP UP THE WEEK AND THANK YOURSELF
Every Friday, I go through the tasks that still need to be attended to and try to finish what I can before the week ends. I also like ending the week with a work out, a symbol for me that I finished strong for the week (even if work didn’t go well for the week, at least I still finished strong through a work out!)
