‘Tis the season to sparkle and shine with glitter makeup!
How do you to take your style one notch higher this holiday season? Match it with equally festive makeup! From a smokey eye to glossy lips, slay your holiday makeup with these six glitter-laden looks.
Glam Rock Eyes
If you’re the edgy, anti-girly kind of gal, try this glam rock-inspired eye makeup as seen on the Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2017 runway. After creating your smokey eye with black eyeshadow and eyeliner, mix it with a bronze or gold pigment for dimension. Finish off with glitter – 3D silver glitter was used on the models – and continuously blend around the eyes.

Pay homage to fashion and beauty icon, Twiggy, and cop her famous doll-like lash makeup; but this time, add glitter in between. At Tadashi Shoji’s Fall/Winter 2017 show, they made the focus on the models’ lower lids by only applying the “fake lashes” and colored glitter there. Keep the rest of your face looking natural by simply using a cheek tint and clear lip gloss.

Ruby Red Lips
Celebrity makeup artist, Pat McGrath, caused a stir when she made models sport her glitter red lips at Atelier Versace’s Fall 2016 Couture fashion show. It was such a hit that McGrath made it into a lip kit, and Naomi Campbell even rocked it at the 2016 MTV VMAs. Cop this look – it’s so reminiscent of Dorothy’s ruby red slippers – by gently patting red glitter on your red lip. Make sure to use a clear gloss (heavy-duty!) over your red lippie for the glitter to stick on them.

If you want a more metallic finish to your holiday makeup look, go for sterling silver eyes like those on the models at Emporio Armani Fall/Winter 2017. Line a glittered silver pencil around your eyes and don’t fret if it’s not perfect, because it shouldn’t be. Apply mascara afterwards and wear a pink lip for contrast.

Attention: this look is not for the faint-hearted! Dare to bare your brows with a glitter outline and keep the rest of your face clean. Make it futuristic with middle parted, slicked back hair.

Still not feeling to go all out glittery for your next party? No worries, you can pull a Cara and wear your chosen lip color with sheer glittered lip gloss for a subtle take on this makeup move. Her copper eyes are optional if you’re ready to jump on the bandwagon.
