Straight from the runways of New York, London, Milan, and Paris, we bring you six of the latest Fall/Winter 2017 trends that you can easily mix into your wardrobe.

While summer may not officially be over yet, it won’t hurt to already prepare—fashion-wise—for the months ahead. Make way for the trends that Fall/Winter 2017 bring, from designers making red the official color of the season to creating a statement via clothing festooned with words and slogans. Plus, we give you ideas on how to wear them with ease and a lot of panache. So be ahead of the fashion pack and don these Fall/Winter 2017 trends N-O-W!

1. Painting the Town Red

Bold and truly powerful, designers want you to turn heads by choosing red as the season’s star color. Whether elegant or edgy, go monochromatic in this hue and own it!

Have an important meeting or presentation for work? Kill it like Kendall by donning a power suit! Break the monotony by wearing a black top underneath and add ultra-chic heels. Play with textures even in an all-red look by going for contrasting fabrics, just like Cara Delevingne’s ensemble. You can also accessorize your monochromatic outfit with a purse in an equally striking color—Fifty Shades of Grey star, Dakota Johnson, does just that with a gold satin bag.

2. Metallic Mania

Get your glow on in metallics that will either transport you to the future, or bring you back to 70s disco. While you can shimmy in shimmer for a night out with your gal pals, you can surely rock this trend in the daytime too.

Fashion blogger Laureen Uy amps up her denim on denim ensemble by making glittery boots the highlight of her look. You too can opt for accessorizing with this trend, instead of wearing it as a clothing piece. Think gold or silver is too strong for your liking? Take your cue from Olivia Palermo and wear metallics in subtler shades like rose gold or peach. How to take your sequin skirt to the streets? With sneakers of course!

3. Layer It Up

With a strong 90s reference, designers also gave us layered looks without the bulk. This is definitely a layering style made for the tropics.

Louis Vuitton, Kendall + Kylie, and No. 21 Fall/Winter 2017 (vogue.com)

How to stand out among a sea of off-shoulder-wearing peeps? Layer it with a fitted top underneath and throw in your ripped jeans as well, like digital influencer Margaret Zhang. If you’re not too keen on showing skin with a cute bralette, wear it over a crisp white polo a la fashion blogger Chriselle Lim. Always dressed to the nines, take it from stylist Liz Uy and pare down a slinky dress with a graphic tee and flats.

4. Everything’s Coming Up Roses

The Fall runways were in full bloom, what with the rose accoutrements on various designer looks. From rose embroidery to prints, this is how you do floral for the season.

Just want a hint of rose prints? Wear them on your shoes or accessories instead, like star blogger Julie Sariñana. If you’re off to a date with your beau, be a girly-girl in a full-on print midi dress and go minimal with your accessories, like Filipino fashion blogger Camille Co. Too inspired with D&G’s denim look? Sport rose patch denims like blogger Maria De La Cruz, and werq it with a fasyon blouse and sky high pumps. Le chic!

5. Asymmetrical Shoulder

All eyes are still on the shoulders with the asymmetrical silhouette replacing last year’s off-shoulder (it was everywhere!). Show some skin without going overboard as you rock this trend.

Saint Laurent, Lanvin, and Etro Fall/Winter 2017 (vogue.com)

A fun way of wearing this trend? Layer it over a high neck top and be daring with a print on print combination. You can also go basic and wear a black and white look, just like top blogger Aimee Song—add in a bit of color if you please, for that element of surprise! Make a pair of jeans sophisticated like fashion blogger Kim Jones, with an asymmetrical ruffled top and unique footwear.

6. Written Rule

With political protests left and right, designers were one with the people as they sent down looks on the catwalks bearing encouraging words and slogans. Could this also mean the return of the slogan tee? Absolutely.

IBDJ - Wordy FW 17
Versace, Prabal Gurung, and Creatures of Comfort Fall/Winter 2017 (vogue.com)

Go for a cropped t-shirt like Selena Gomez, and pair it with high waist jeans and black boots for a casual cool take. How about a romantic look like Chiara Ferragni’s? Tuck in your shirt under a frilly skirt, accessorize with a thin choker, and finish off with heels or ballet flats. You can also opt for a clean, relaxed look like model Karlie Kloss, by going for an all-white ensemble and wide-leg trousers.
